Tested in Texas, supported by research
During the 2002-2003 school year, a ClassTrac pilot was launched in Texas at the request of the Texas Education Agency (TEA). The program was intended to help students master one of the nation's most rigorous high-stakes exams: the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS).
In collaboration with TEA, more than 100 schools across the state used ClassTrac resources developed for the biology and social sciences content areas.
The result? In a TEA survey, 89% indicated that ClassTrac had a "moderate to major impact" on students' engagement in learning.
"Overall, high ratings were given to the accuracy of the lesson content and the extent to which content was TEKS/TAKS focused."
