Thorndike Press, an imprint of Cengage Learning, sponsored 28 on-going pilot programs established across the United States.
The purpose of the Pilot Program(s) was to gather reading scores/statistics for middle or high school struggling readers OR ESL/ELL learners who use Large Print books for their independent reading, in their curriculum, or as part of their reading program(s).
We did not ask for any personal information on participants just their beginning, mid and year end reading metrics from any recognized/endorsed reading tests.
Because reluctant readers are often self-conscious about their reading abilities, Thorndike Press books for student readers are the same size as or smaller than regular print hardcover versions and created with the same cover as the original. The words "Large Print" do not appear anywhere on the cover or spine of the book.
